John H. Urubek, MAI, CCIM devoted over 40 years to the practice and study of real estate appraisal. For over 3 decades, he served as President of Realty Value Consultants, a Chicago appraisal firm that specializes in complex property valuations. He has been an instructor of advanced appraisal concepts for over 25-years; and now teaches almost the entire spectrum of the Appraisal Institute’s curriculum. He developed a 6-day appraisal concepts course that prepares appraisers for the Appraisal Institute’s comprehensive exam or the National Uniform Certification Examination. In 2010, Mr. Urubek was inducted into the Instructor Hall of Fame for the Chicago Chapter of the Appraisal Institute and was the 2011 recipient of the President’s award for the national Appraisal Institute. Mr. Urubek is also the principal architect of Appraisers Paradise – a web-based service that aids commercial appraisers in the development of narrative reports in a USPAP compliant fashion.
