Dana Thornberry, MAI, SRA
Dana R. Thornberry, MAI, SRA, CDEI is an instructor from Owensboro, Kentucky.
I am a Certified General Appraiser, licensed Kentucky realtor and pre-qualified appraiser for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plus an approved FHA and VA appraiser. As a past president for the AI-Bluegrass Chapter from Kentucky, I understand the importance of education for designated and candidate members plus new appraisers. Formal education is a BBA in Finance from University of Louisville and a Masters in Management from Brescia University in Owensboro, Kentucky.
I am a practicing appraiser familiar with your struggles in complying with mortgage lenders for Conventional, FHA, VA and commercial appraisals. General Appraiser Report Writing helps you with better verbal and written communication skills; therefore, minimizing time-consuming requests for additional information. Making sure you comply with all requirements for form and narrative reports is important! The basic, general and advanced courses available from AI can help you with your research and analysis to create an understandable report for your intended user.
As an instructor, this is where I come in. I have been an appraiser since 1987, starting as a residential appraiser in Louisville, Kentucky. Over the past 30 years my experience includes a broad range of single-unit and multiunit residential, commercial and industrial properties plus easement valuations. In addition, litigation and consultation are a large part of my practice. My goal is to use this experience coupled with the Appraisal Institute education to further your practice. A diversified practice plus your MAI or SRA designation will keep you busy for years to come!
I look forward to seeing you in Nashville, Tennessee. If you have questions regarding an upcoming class, I can be reached at dana@thornberryappraisals.net or 270-686-0012.
